As I told in the first post of this blog, this is the International Year of the Dolphin so I'm happy to have the chance to speak again about these wonderful and intelligent aquatic mammals. According to the research that some english scientists had carried out for three years in the Amazon river, male dolphins court their females bringing to them bunches of seaweeds in the same way that humans do with bunches of flowers. This habit is due to a cultural sharing from a generation to the next one and not to a genetic transmission. It could seem surprising talking about "culture" and "romanticism" in the animal world, but this is exactly what these Cetaceans are showing us.

It seems that dolphins aren't that intelligent: they are as stupid as humans.
