A frog with casts

By Guido Trombetta on 9:15 PM ,

This poor female frog has been so unlucky that it got crushed in the front door of a house breaking both of her front legs, in a town called Hemel Hempstead, England. However I have to say that, from that moment on, she has been really fortunate beacause the owner of the house decided to take it in a very good place: St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in nearby Aylesbury, a wonderful clinic where the staff take care of the injured or deseased wild animals.
In this case they saved the creature by fitting her with specially-made casts. They used an endrotraecal tube to make two splints for the tiny amphibian who measures just three inches.

frog's fractures captured in x-ray

This is not the first episode of this kind at St Tiggywinkles. One year ago it happened almost the same as you can see in the following picture, in that case the frog however was luckier and it got just one fracture.

Visit St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital website, and you'll see many other stories about the animals they are currently healing like one little bambi deer and some little hedgehogs
